In the 2007 Mercedes C230, the crankshaft position sensor is located about 5 to 6 inches to the right of the engine air intake. It can be found on the rear, driver side housing on top of the block. To access it, you will need to remove the air intake system, which is the plastic component on top of the engine, similar to how you would replace the air filters. The sensor is secured in place by a single Torx T27 bolt.
