Typically, the Dodge Journey has a dual catalytic converter system, but this can vary depending on the engine and model year. Each setup includes a catalytic converter connected to the exhaust pipe, located closer to the exhaust manifold than the tailpipe. If there are two converters, they will be labeled as "Bank 1" and "Bank 2." Unfortunately, replacing them is extremely pricey due to the high cost of rare earth metals in the converters. Expect to shell out over $1600 for each replacement, so maintaining other components like oxygen sensors is crucial to prevent converter failure.
