To find the starter relay on a 2008 BMW 528i, check the circuit diagram under the tool kit cover attached to the trunk lid. You can test the relay by jumping it or listening for it to engage. The starter relay is a crucial but often overlooked component of a car's ignition system. It redirects power from the battery to the starter solenoid, which kicks the engine into action. If your vehicle doesn't start when you turn the key, it could be a sign of a faulty starter relay.

The starter relay on the 2008 BMW 528i is situated beneath the intake manifold.

The starter relay is located in the trunk near your battery. Above the battery, there is a fuse box where you can find a black cube. You can easily remove it by hand. Just be careful not to confuse it with the actual starter, which is located under the intake manifold.

I removed my starter relay to check it, and it turned out to be the reason my car wouldn't start. You can find it in the trunk along with the fuses, above the battery on the right side. Just like the earlier comment mentioned, it's not located under the hood!
