The 2003 Chevy Avalanche comes with ZereX1 yellow antifreeze containing OAT technology specifically made for American cars. This coolant should be mixed with water to attain a 50/50 ratio if not already diluted. You can locate the coolant reservoir beneath the hood in the engine bay on the driver's side towards the back of the firewall. It is important to always check the levels when the vehicle has cooled down. Never open the coolant cap when the engine is hot or has recently been in operation to prevent spluttering and potential burns from the hot coolant. Be alert for signs of low antifreeze, such as increased engine temperatures, warning lights, and front-end leaks. If repairs or replacements are needed for the thermostat, water pump, or radiator hoses, it may impact the antifreeze levels.
