The 2008 Buick Lucerne is equipped with Prestone Dex-Cool Extended Life 50/50 Antifreeze and Coolant. To perform a coolant change on this vehicle, start by opening the hood to locate the radiator situated in front of the engine compartment. Attached to the radiator is a clear or black plastic container known as the coolant reservoir, which includes a drain plug, fill plug, and a dipstick. You can check the coolant level using the dipstick and top up if necessary when only refilling. If you plan to flush the coolant, open the drain plug to allow the old coolant to drain into a bucket. You can assist the draining process by adding water to the container. Once the water runs relatively clean, it indicates completion. Close the drain plug, fill the container to the cool or cold line marked by the dipstick, and reseal the cap on top.
