Based on the manual, it is recommended to use Motorcraft Mercon V ATF. This fluid can be purchased in 1 quart containers at various auto shops for around $8 each. When adding more fluid, locate the reservoir under the hood on the passenger side near the windshield. Look for the minimum and maximum level indicators on the reservoir. If the level is below the minimum mark, add more fluid until it reaches the maximum line before closing the cap securely.
