The 2007 Nissan Maxima requires DEXRON-III/MERCON or an equivalent type of ATF for the transmission fluid. To change the fluid, start by ensuring the car is parked on a level surface and then opening the hood. Locate the transmission fluid reservoir, which is typically near the transmission itself, and find the dipstick. Remove the dipstick, clean it, reinsert it, then pull it out again. Take note of the fluid level indicated on the dipstick and the amount needed to fill the reservoir. Use a funnel to fill the reservoir until it reaches the full mark or just below it. Avoid overfilling. Close the reservoir, and you're good to go.

Amsoil's synthetic CVT Fluid, identified by code CVTQT-EA, is necessary for the Maxima's continuous variable transmission (CVT) system.

That's correct. I have a 2007 Nissan Maxima and recently had the transmission rebuilt. It requires 10 quarts of fluid when refilling it from empty. Be sure to accurately measure the amount that comes out during drainage and pay close attention to the fill level indicated on the dipstick.
