The issue with the reverse lights on the Ford Transit not working is likely caused by a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box, you should locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel along the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will find several fuses. On the back of the panel, there should be a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not there, you can check the owner's manual for the vehicle. Identify the fuse that needs replacing by examining the thin strip of metal connecting the two sections that stick up. If the strip is broken, the fuse is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, you can reinsert the fuse. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, typically around $10.

The primary reason why reverse lights fail on a Ford Transit van is often due to a sticky, dirty, corroded, or malfunctioning reverse switch positioned on the gearbox casing.

My new gear shifter, reverse lights, and rear sensor weren't functioning properly. I took it to Ford for repair, and they fixed it but charged me. They mentioned that they would need to schedule another appointment to investigate the issue further.
