If the bowden cable, a component that links the outer door handle to the blend door actuator, is damaged or breaks, the door won't open from outside. To fix this issue, replacing the faulty cable is necessary. The average cost for parts alone typically ranges between $40 to $80.

Check out the door from the exterior. When you tug on the handle to open it, you'll see a tiny hole at the tip of the handle that's only visible when you do this. While doing so, spray some penetrating oil such as WD-40 into the hole, and voila, the door should open!

If you are having trouble opening the passenger door of a MINI Cooper from the outside, make sure to inspect the connection between the handle and the latch.
