If the ABS light is illuminated in your Ford Transit and there is no fault code present, it is likely due to low brake fluid. The process of changing brake fluid in a vehicle can range from simple to more complex, depending on whether bleeding the brakes is necessary. To add more fluid, locate the intake port beneath the car's hood, unscrew the cap, and check the fluid levels marked by MIN and FULL lines on the container. Fill the container to a level between the two lines, closer to the FULL line, then securely screw the cap back on. For bleeding the brakes, start by lifting the car off the ground with a jack and removing the tires. Begin at the back of the car, find the bleeder valve on the wheel, attach a piece of rubber tubing to the valve, and open it. Sit in the car, press the brake pedal slowly, release it, and repeat. Watch as fluid flows out through the tube into a bucket. Continue this process until no more fluid comes out, then move on to the next tire. Repeat for all wheels, reinstall the tires, and refill the brakes accordingly.
