If the battery light in your Ford Transit Connect is illuminated, it is an indication that there is a problem with the charging system. Typically, this issue is attributed to a faulty battery or alternator. The light is triggered when the battery voltage is detected as being too low. Dim dashboard lights could signal a battery problem. If your engine starts but then quickly shuts off, it is likely that your alternator is not effectively charging the battery. If jump-starting the vehicle sustains its operation, but it cannot start on its own power afterward, a dead battery is probably the cause.

If the battery light in your Ford Transit van is illuminated while the battery is being charged, it could mean that there is a problem with the wiring of the alternator.

I'm facing the same issue where the battery and alternator are working fine, but I can't figure out the source of the error. Everything else seems to be in perfect working condition.

I have the same problem with mine. Have you figured out what's causing the issue with yours?

There is a 40-amp fuse on the battery that may go bad.

I fixed the alternator three months ago and the issue seemed to go away. Suddenly, the battery light has reappeared out of nowhere. I've confirmed that my battery is in good condition and that my alternator is charging properly. However, the battery light turns on again just 3 minutes after starting the van.

The issue lies within the multiplug wiring, where one of the wires is likely damaged. This results in the alternator defaulting to a charge of 154 volts due to its intelligent charging system. If the ECU fails to send a signal indicating the charging rate, or if the exciter wire is severed, the alternator cannot function properly. Typically, this problem occurs near the radiator due to frayed wires.
