If you find that the door latch of your Ford Fiesta is stuck open, you can fix this issue by accessing the panel near the latch and removing the screws to release the latch. Make sure to adjust and realign the teeth so that they engage properly when the door is closed. The mechanism of a door latch involves a rod that connects the actuator to the latch, and another rod that links the latch to the knob on top of the door. When the actuator lifts the latch, it enables the external door handle to engage with the opening mechanism. While all serious car accidents carry the risk of severe injuries, the danger significantly increases if a vehicle occupant is ejected. The likelihood of sustaining catastrophic injuries is much higher if someone is thrown out of a car, truck, or SUV.
