If your Honda CR-V's Apple CarPlay feature isn't functioning properly, try disconnecting the Bluetooth connection between the car and your phone. You might need to reset it. If that doesn't resolve the issue, access the options menu, delete user data, and then reconnect. CarPlay is an Apple technology that allows your car's radio or head unit to serve as a display and controller for your iOS device. It's compatible with iPhone models starting from the iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1 or later. Apple CarPlay is typically included for free in new vehicles. Using CarPlay itself doesn't consume data, but any online activities you perform through CarPlay, like browsing the internet, will utilize data when your iPhone is connected to the car.

Here's a rephrased version: "To fix my Apple Carplay right away, you can try restarting the infotainment system. Hold down the radio power button and volume control for around 10 seconds until it prompts you to reboot. Select 'yes' to confirm and it will restart quickly, solving the issue for me.

Do I have to use a USB cable made by Apple? I was using a different brand of USB cable that was working, but now it's not. I tried restarting, and it's telling me to connect the device to the USB port.

It didn't go as planned for me... I found it incredibly aggravating.

  • Reginald Delaney

Thank you, it worked when I held down the power button for a few seconds until it restarted itself! After that, a Honda logo appeared on the display, followed by the "Apple CarPlay" icon in green. At that moment, I knew it was functioning properly again. Thanks once more!

Hello, rebooting did the trick for my 2021 CRV. I'm not sure why Apple CarPlay suddenly stopped working, but my Civic hasn't had any issues. Either way, everything is back to normal after the reboot. Thank you.

  • Clayton M.

Hey Honda, you gotta address this Carplay issue pronto! There's a major bug where Carplay disconnects randomly, and reconnecting Bluetooth/Carplay doesn't work until you reboot the car system. It's like having to reboot your Windows when it crashes.

  • Debbie Ushiro

You might have to delete the Bluetooth pairing between your car and your phone, and then set it up again. If that doesn't solve the issue, you can access the settings and clear the user data, then reconnect the devices.

I've been driving my 2021 CR-V Hybrid for about two weeks now, and last Thursday, it suddenly wouldn't connect to my iPhone. I gave the infotainment system a reboot this morning, and it's good as new. Appreciate the help, everyone!

If problems persist even after several resets, try switching to a different power cord or disabling Bluetooth. I discovered that my problem was caused by the EQ app on Apple's iOS. To resolve it, I had to download it from the Apple Store and adjust it to a flat setting. Using Airplay could trigger numerous errors with EQ and lead to the cache crashing in the system.

To fix the issue, I started by removing my CR-V from the list of Apple CarPlay vehicles on my iPhone. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Apple CarPlay > Select the vehicle > Choose “Forget Car”. Then, in the CR-V, I navigated to Settings > System Settings > Restored Factory Settings. Keep in mind that this will wipe the infotainment screen, resetting your settings and data. Lastly, I turned off Bluetooth on my iPhone. Once these steps were completed, I connected my iPhone to my CR-V and successfully got Apple CarPlay to function.

Worked briefly, then suddenly lost connection to the phone once more. Attempted to reconnect, but encountered the same issue. Carplay initially functions properly, but disconnects after 30 seconds, despite the Bluetooth connection to the phone being successful.

I had to turn on Siri on my iPhone, then restart the iPhone, and now it's working.

  • RUDY LUGO

Rebooting can only do so much to fix the problem with CarPlay in the CRV's AV system. It's frustrating that Honda hasn't addressed this issue with an update. Performing factory resets over and over again gets tiring after the 200th attempt.

I'm pretty sure that the connectivity problems are being caused by the IPHONE UPDATE! It's like Apple's sneaky strategy to get us to buy the latest version. 😩

  • Eloi

I've been struggling with this issue for more than a year on our 2020 Hybrid CRV, and I find it unacceptable to have to perform a factory reset every time Apple CarPlay starts to malfunction. It's frustrating, especially since I have an extended warranty, yet my Honda dealer insists that factory resetting is a valid solution, even though I have to do it nearly once a week. I am wondering if Honda owners with newer models or wireless Apple CarPlay are experiencing similar problems.
