In most cases, if the backup camera in a Mazda CX5 stops working, it is usually because of a blown fuse. Simply replacing the fuse should resolve the issue. This is particularly true if you are receiving a "no signal" warning. If you see a picture but it appears blurry or distorted, the camera lens may just need a good cleaning. It is located close to the ground at the rear of the vehicle, so it can easily get dirty. Use a microfiber cloth to clean it. Occasionally, you may notice the screen displaying the image in black and white static, which is likely due to a faulty connection. Check for any loose cables or frayed wires near the ground that may need to be replaced. If you recently had service done and now the camera is not working, ensure that the plug for the camera is properly connected to the video feed. If it was disconnected, it may have been reconnected to the wrong input.

In 2018, my CX 5 occasionally experiences issues with the rearview camera not functioning, showing a black screen. I attempted to reset by using the button on the screen without success. Even after performing a Factory Reset for the system, the problem persisted. However, upon restarting the car, the camera began working again. This strange occurrence has happened multiple times, but all other functions seem to be working fine. Do I need a tech expert's help?

Can you tell me the location and numbered designation of the fuse for the reverse camera?

Hey Mark, the dealership explained that for my 2018 CX-5, the backup camera and other features like the display and radio are all connected to the same fuse. Therefore, if the fuse is blown, none of these functions would work. They also tried a software update, but it didn't solve the issue. The next solution they suggested is replacing the dash harness for my car.

In 2012, I had a CX5 with a camera that showed a blue screen. I tried pressing the three buttons to reset it, but that did not work. I then replaced the camera, but there was still no display or response from the new camera. Can anyone offer assistance with this issue, please?
