There are a few potential reasons why the backup camera might stop functioning in the Ford Fusion. The most frequent issue is a blown fuse, indicated by a "No Signal" message on the screen. Check for a 15-amp fuse at position 23 in the fuse box, but refer to the diagram on the cover for confirmation. If the camera shows a black and white image with static, it may be due to a loose or damaged wire. Sometimes, faulty wiring can also trigger a no signal warning. Blurry or distorted pictures can often be fixed easily by cleaning a dirty camera lens with a microfiber cloth. Additionally, in rare cases, the camera could have been wrongly connected to the auxiliary cable instead of the video feed, or the entire unit may need replacement.

My Ford Fusion SE was running smoothly until I brought it in for routine service. Soon after, when I needed to use the backup camera, it suddenly stopped working. I never had any issues with it before. I suspect the service technician may have done something to cause this. A friend mentioned that this issue is common with Fords, which surprised me because I've owned three Ford Fusions SE previously and never had any trouble with the backup camera.
