Why isn't the remote start on my 2011 Chevy Equinox functioning properly?

The built-in remote start feature in the 2011 Chevy Equinox allows you to start your vehicle by pressing the lock button on the remote three times consecutively. This convenient function is particularly handy during colder weather. While there haven't been any widespread complaints from multiple owners about common issues, a potential reason for the feature not working could be a low battery in the key fob. When the battery is running out, it may have enough power for the initial press, but not for three consecutive presses. Another possible cause of failure could be the immobilizer not recognizing the correct key, preventing the engine from starting. If you encounter this problem, it's best to have the dealer address it as reprogramming a new code requires their specialized diagnostic tools.

The primary problems with the 2011 Chevy Equinox and its remote key are the key fob's battery dying and the key fob losing its connection to the car.

My key fob's remote start feature is not functioning correctly, and the trunk release button is also not operating as it should.

My remote car starter isn't initiating the engine on my 2020 Chevy Equinox LT, although it's still able to unlock the doors and operate other functions. Unfortunately, it's not starting the car as expected. 😞

Hey everyone, I apologize for the confusion. Just press the small button located at the bottom of the key fob. This should allow it to slide open, revealing a spare key that you can pull out at the same time.
