If the battery in the Volkswagen Atlas needs to be replaced, the remote start function may not work. You can change the 3-volt battery by removing the plastic cover of the key fob and swapping it for a new one with the same voltage. Another reason why the remote start feature may not function properly is if the car's system detects a problem with any of the components needed to start the engine. The "not ready to drive" indicator light will appear if the car is not in the park position, or if any of the doors, hood, or trunk are open. The system will also be disabled if the car's battery is weak or if the "check engine" light is illuminated. Additionally, low fuel levels or an unlocked vehicle can also lead to this issue.

The remote start feature on my 2020 Volkswagen Atlas might not be working because of a faulty starter or a drained key fob battery.

I believe I've solved the issue. The vehicle won't start if the fuel tank is running low or empty. That's a great feature!

The dumb remote start is acting up, it's supposed to kick in when needed, but it's failing in Palm Springs. This car is so frustrating.
