There are various factors that may lead to issues with the touch screen in the Ford Explorer not functioning properly. Among these, software glitches appear to be the primary culprit, and a straightforward reset may sometimes resolve the problem. To reset the MyFord Touch system, there are different methods you can use. One option is to remove the fuse from the passenger compartment fuse box, typically located near the driver's left foot area. It is important to be cautious not to accidentally drop the fuse behind the plastic trim when replacing or inspecting it. Alternatively, you can disconnect the power supply connector from the fuse box. Keep the fuse or connector unplugged for around a minute before reconnecting it. Then, attempt to power on the radio to check if this has resolved the issue.
If the touchscreen in your Ford Explorer stops working, it likely freezes and requires a restart to function properly again.
Press and hold the volume button and the right scan button simultaneously for 5 seconds to initiate a system reboot.

My dashboard contains an interface that needs to be replaced, and the cost at the Ford dealership is $1800.
Where can I find the power supply connector for the fuse box?
I had been dealing with an ongoing issue with my 2020 Explorer from Ford for quite some time. They attempted various solutions such as reseating cables, updating software, and even performing recall work on the rear camera causing blue screens. Despite these efforts, the problem persisted until the dealership replaced the APIM module, which finally resolved the issue. The frustrating part was that the problem was intermittent, making it difficult for the dealership to replicate. One day, while heading to the dealership for routine service, the screen malfunctioned again. I left it on and had the service manager witness the issue while it occurred, even capturing it on video. My advice is to bring your vehicle to the service department when the problem is happening, if feasible, to ensure they can confirm and address the issue, potentially leading to the replacement of the APIM.
