Why isn't the USB port in my Toyota Camry functioning properly?

Hi

If your Toyota Camry's USB port is not working, there could be three potential reasons. The first, which I consider the most likely, may also be the most embarrassing. I recommend trying a different cable before attempting any repairs; sometimes we overlook the fact that the cable itself may be damaged. If it's not the cable, the issue could be with the USB port or the wiring. If the port is damaged, you may need to replace it. If the problem lies with the wiring, especially in models with USB ports in the center console, there are more potential points of failure to check. Make sure to inspect connectors and test for continuity.

Could somebody show me a diagram illustrating where the USB ports are located in the middle console? The USB port on the driver's side of my 2018 Camry used to function, but it suddenly stopped working while I was driving one day. The dealer mentioned that the USB ports in the center console do not support CarPlay; they are only for charging. I want to buy a new cable and repair this issue on my own. Thank you!

If the USB port in the Toyota Camry is malfunctioning, it could be due to damage to the contact plate - which can be easily damaged - or a lack of power reaching the USB port.

Could the replacement and reprogramming of a damaged windshield just one hour before it failed possibly be a factor?

Tom, a windshield replacement will not affect your USB ports. They use your OBD-2 port instead. As a glass technician for ten years, I have heard this misconception too many times.
