The 2012 Chevy Equinox exhaust manifold issue is not a subject of a recall, however, there is a TSB bulletin addressing a problem with the manifold cracking. This crack could potentially lead to leaks, which poses a risk as the leaked material might come into contact with a hot surface and potentially cause a fire. If you have experienced this issue, you can bring your vehicle to the dealership for a free fix, provided your vehicle meets certain criteria like being under 120,000 miles. The crack is a result of increased pressure on the manifold caused by a clogged catalytic converter. A replacement exhaust manifold will cost between $100 and $175, depending on whether you choose an OEM or aftermarket part.
