When comparing the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2500, there are a lot of similarities as the 2500 is essentially a larger version of the 1500 designed for heavier tasks. If you intend to switch a door between these two models, there are a few factors to consider, but in general, they are interchangeable. For instance, front doors are compatible across generations, while rear doors must correspond to the cab size. You can't fit a Crew cab door on a Double cab vehicle. Yet, if you've verified that the sizes match, then the hardware is the same, and the doors should be able to be swapped.
