To start, refer to your owner's manual to find the heater core with a schematic diagram for exact location. Next, disconnect all connections from the heater core to the coolant system after draining the coolant to prevent spills and mess. Then, disconnect the hoses attached to the firewall near the passenger side window. Unscrew the glove box to access the compartment housing the heater core, disconnecting all lines connected to it. Lastly, remove the heater core by loosening the securing bolts.

    I wish it was as easy as it used to be. The 2009 F-150 is not like the older models. To access certain components, you'll need to take out the entire dashboard, which can be a time-consuming process. If you're working on a 2008 model, you're fine, but with a 2009, it's a whole different ball game.
