The biggest tire that comes standard on a Jeep Grand Cherokee is a P245/70R17. You can easily interpret the numbers on a tire once you understand their meaning. The first number, 245, indicates the tire width in millimeters. The second number, 70, represents the sidewall height at 70 millimeters. And the third number, 17, signifies a 17-inch wheel size. It's generally recommended not to go much beyond this tire size to avoid rubbing problems when turning. Using a larger tire could potentially harm your SUV's gearbox if it demands additional torque to turn.
This is not accurate. The second number represents the aspect ratio, which is the width percentage.
