In 2010 Chevy Malibu models, there are issues with the throttle body causing reduced power and the check engine light to remain illuminated. The throttle body is a crucial component in fuel-injected engines that regulates the amount of air entering the engine based on the driver's accelerator pedal actions. When the throttle body malfunctions, symptoms such as rough idling, stalling at stops, or quick stalling upon sudden acceleration due to rapid opening and closing of the throttle body plate can occur.
Four days ago, I felt unwell at the gas station. While I was pumping gas with the car running, it suddenly entered power reduction mode. I have since tried replacing the throttle body, coil packs, spark plugs, cable to the battery, and the mass air flow sensor. Despite these efforts, the issue persists. The car runs smoothly, but once stopped, it won't idle properly for more than 20 minutes before reverting back to power reduction mode. The trouble code displayed is p1682, and I have not yet been able to identify any underlying problems.
