Nissan didn't officially recall the rear axle seals on the Nissan Titan, but they did release a service bulletin about it. This means that you'll need to cover the repair costs yourself unless your vehicle is still under warranty. However, since this issue only impacted models manufactured between 2004 and 2008, the chances of having an active warranty are low. Buying new seals for the rear axle will set you back around $30 to $50. If you opt to have a mechanic handle the replacement, the total cost, including parts and labor, can range from $250 to $400.
Nissan has released a notice for 2004-2008 Titans to put in a fresh axle shaft unit due to a problem with gear oil leaking from the seal.
