The VW Passat may have issues with its front suspension, causing the vehicle to ride roughly and dip when stopping. It's important to replace this part eventually to avoid any accidents on the road. Additionally, it's recommended to change your tires every 30,000 to 50,000 miles to ensure they are in optimal condition and prevent potential crashes. Keeping an eye on the tire pressure monthly and checking for holes, especially after running over a nail, is crucial. Look out for premature tire wear, feathering, and cupping issues that may arise with this part over time.
Suspension knocking sounds and front strut assembly issues are common suspension troubles found in the 2017 Volkswagen Passat.
I have owned two Passats, a 2015 model and a 2017 model. Both cars experienced front end noises. With 80,000 miles on the 2017 model, I now require repairs for the left front bearing hub assembly, lower control arm bushings, and struts. The cost for the repairs will be just over $3,000. I am quite disappointed to be facing these issues on a three-year-old car with relatively low mileage. As a meticulously cautious driver and caretaker of my vehicle, this situation is very disheartening for me.
