Changing the transmission fluid in a 2014 Dodge Durango is a moderately challenging task that takes about 1 to 2 hours. Start by lifting the SUV with a hydraulic jack or jack stands. Next, go underneath to drain the fluid from the transmission pan. Once drained, remove the transmission pan to replace the filter. Reassemble the transmission pan and drain plug afterward. Then, refill the transmission fluid reservoir with the specified amount of fluid. Additionally, you need to replace the gasket, pick-up tube, and rubber seal along with the filter. It’s recommended to replace the transmission filter every 30,000 to 50,000 miles.
This transmission doesn't have a dipstick.
To add transmission fluid to a 2014 Dodge Durango, start by parking the car on a level surface and opening the hood. Find the transmission with the dipstick that has a round O-ring at the end. Remove the dipstick, clean it, reinsert it, and then check the fluid level. Identify the intake spout on the transmission and, if necessary, use a funnel. Pour the fluid in until the dipstick indicates it is full. Replace the dipstick, close the intake spout, and you’re done.
