To reset the immobilizer on a Honda Element, you'll need to follow these steps: insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position, then to the lock position. Remove the key, reinsert it, and turn it back to the on position. This should reset the immobilizer system. An immobilizer is a feature in your car's computer that verifies the correct smart key fob before allowing the engine to start, preventing unauthorized access. It's important to note that you will need both the key and the fob for this process. Immobilizer issues in new cars are typically resolved with a software update. The Honda Element, particularly models from the early to mid-2000s, may experience immobilizer issues due to the natural deterioration of electronic components over time.
I'm dealing with a similar issue where the green key is flashing and the car won't start when I try to turn it on. I've already looked at the 15 amp fuse but no luck so far. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. - Bill
Even after being reset, the car continues to display a flashing green key and is not starting.
A bright green key swiftly blinked.
If you found another Honda key near the ignition switch, what should you do?
Even after resetting the car, the green key light is still flashing and the car won't start.
To reset the Honda Element immobilizer, first turn the ignition switch to the off (0) position, then take out the key and put it back in. Finally, turn the ignition switch back to the on (II) position. If another immobilizer key or any metal object like a key fob is close to the ignition switch when you insert the key, the device may not recognize its encoding.

How can I unlock it? I have tried everything.
If there was an extra Honda key available, I would rather drive that Honda instead of spending three frustrating days troubleshooting and resetting codes without any success. It seems like the flywheel is not engaging properly, and I hear a loud clunking noise from the engine when it does.
