The US government agency NHSTA reports that the 2006 Lexus GS300 has received numerous complaints from consumers regarding power steering issues while driving. In 2009, Lexus conducted a service campaign to address steering problems in various Lexus models, including the 2006 GS. The defective part was identified as the electric power steering assembly, leading to a recall and free repair for affected customers. To determine if your vehicle is included in the recall or if the repair has been completed (especially if you purchased the car secondhand), you will need your VIN number. If you are uncertain about any of the above, it is recommended to have an electronic power steering system diagnostic performed.
