The 2005 Mercedes E320 CDi has a capacity of 8.5 liters of engine oil. To change the oil in this car, start by making sure the vehicle has been parked and turned off for a few hours to allow the oil to cool down. This will prevent you from burning yourself on the hot oil. Locate the oil pan in the engine bay and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket beneath the plug and remove it to let the oil drain out. It may take up to an hour for all the oil to drip out. Once it stops dripping, replace the drain plug. Next, find the intake port on top of the oil pan and use a funnel to fill the pan to the full mark. Be careful not to overfill, as this can cause leaks and oil burn off. It's okay to be a little under the full mark. Once the oil pan is filled, close up the intake port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
