The Honda Element needs 2.9 quarts of transmission fluid. To change the fluid, start by ensuring the car is parked on level ground and opening the hood. Locate the transmission fluid reservoir, which is usually near the transmission, and find the dipstick. Remove it, clean it, reinsert it, and then check the fluid level. Use a funnel to add fluid until it reaches the recommended level (full or slightly below). Avoid overfilling. Once complete, close the reservoir and you're all set.
