To turn off the check engine light on your AudiQ5, here's a workaround you can use. Start by disconnecting the battery and opening the fuse box. Remove fuse number 32. Reconnect the battery, then try to start the vehicle. It won't start, but this step is necessary. Turn off the vehicle, return to the fuse box, and replace fuse 32. You should now be able to start your vehicle normally with the check engine light off.
The only way I have been able to turn off the light on our 2012 3.2-liter Audi Q5 is by keeping the engine speed above 4000 RPM for 5-10 minutes to burn off the carbon buildup. I have also disconnected the battery to reset the system.
To turn off the check engine light in the Audi Q5, use an OBD 2 scanner to connect to the car and then follow the prompts on the screen to reset the light.
