The bolt pattern for the newer Ford models matches the 5-lug configuration and has a 5 X 114.3mm (5 X 4.5 inches) bolt pattern. Ford has adopted this pattern after initially using the A4 bolt pattern in earlier generations. Many classic Mustang owners are looking to switch from the 4-lug pattern to the 5-lug one to accommodate the wheels they desire. This can be easily achieved by using wheel adapters to modify the bolt pattern. To determine the measurement on a five-bolt wheel, you measure from the outermost point of one hole to the center of one of the two furthest holes.
The majority of Ford Mustangs come with a 5-lug pattern that measures 4.5 inches or 114.3 millimeters in size. This can be described as having a bolt design of 5 x 4.5 or 5 x 114.3.
Is the number 4.5 equivalent to 4 and a half?
