No matter how the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 is configured, it will always come with 3/16" brake lines. While it is technically feasible to upgrade to larger diameter brake lines, the standard fittings and bubble flare method are suitable for the system. The 3/16" size is what's commonly used, and replacements can be found at a low cost. It's a good idea to get more than you think you'll need, especially since you can get around 50 feet for approximately $30. It's a smart move to have extra brake lines on hand just in case.
