On a Volkswagen Tiguan and other new cars, the code P2015 is related to the intake manifold runner position sensor in bank 1. This trouble code is triggered when the ECU detects an abnormal signal from the sensor. This issue can occur due to a malfunctioning runner control, damaged wiring connected to the sensor, or if the manifold runner becomes stuck. The code serves as a real-time warning, and the warning light will turn off automatically once the computer no longer detects the issue. Common symptoms associated with this code include rough idling, poor performance during acceleration, and reduced power output.
On my 2015 VW Tiguan, the lever arm kept coming off, which triggered the P2015 code and engine light. After spending $2500 to replace a broken valve, the engine light continued to come on. Despite multiple visits to the shop, the mechanic recommended a new intake manifold. Fortunately, a close friend who is a mechanic managed to reattach the lever arm, and the engine light has stayed off for several days. I can't help but wonder if the initial shop was trying to overcharge me for a full intake manifold replacement. It's disappointing that they also damaged my engine cover, didn't replace the valance or cover below the motor, and broke other plastic components in my engine. 🤬🤬🤬
Code P2015 on a VT Tiguan indicates an issue with the intake manifold sensor for bank 1.
