In the Lexus IS250, Bank 2 Sensor 1 refers to the oxygen sensor that monitors the air-fuel mixture. You'll find this sensor on the driver's side of the car. If you go underneath the vehicle and remove the plastic cover, you should easily spot it on the exhaust system. If you're getting a diagnostic trouble code via an OBD-II scan tool, it's important to replace this sensor promptly. Oxygen sensors play a crucial role in managing exhaust temperatures, and if they fail, they can cause significant damage to the catalytic converter. Since replacing a catalytic converter is much more expensive than replacing an oxygen sensor, it's wise to address this issue promptly before it escalates.
