The crankshaft position sensor on a 2010 Chevy Impala can be found on the front right side of the engine block near the intake manifold. Its main job is to determine the position of the crankshaft in its rotation cycle. This data is then relayed to the ECU to help regulate the timing of air and fuel intake, as well as spark ignition. If the sensor malfunctions, you might experience rough engine performance, possible misfires, and a check engine light coming on due to the ECU not receiving signals from the sensor.
Check out the front top part of the engine block, right before the intake manifold, to find where the camshaft position sensor is located.
