The fuel filter in the 2004 Chevy Silverado is integrated into the fuel pump assembly. Usually, the fuel pump is located underneath the vehicle, connected to the fuel rail. Accessing it is relatively straightforward, as it is secured by a few bolts that are easy to remove. The cost of replacement varies, typically ranging between $200 and $800. In certain situations, both the filter and pump are contained within the gas tank. In such instances, a new gas tank will be needed to swap out the pump, but there will be external access to install a new filter. The prices for this kind of replacement are similar, possibly a bit higher than just replacing the pump.
The inertia switch or fuel pump reset switch can be found near the fuel pump, right next to the radiator along the engine block.
