The Ford Transit Connect's heater fan resistor is located in the passenger footwell on the bulkhead, while the heater fan relay can be found in the fuse box. To access the fuse box, check to the left of the steering wheel for a small seam or crack along the dash. You can open this with a screwdriver or prybar. Inside the fuse box, you will see various fuses. Look on the back of the panel you opened for a diagram showing the function of each fuse. If the diagram is not there, refer to the vehicle's owner's manual to find it. Identify the fuse you need and remove it – a good fuse will have a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections. If this strip is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, reinsert the fuse. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, costing about $10.
The part of the Ford Transit Connect where you can locate the heater fan resistor is in the passenger foot area on the wall separating the engine compartment from the cabin.
