In a 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer, the oil pressure sensor is situated just above the oil filter at the front of the engine. If you notice the oil pressure light is illuminated, the gauge shows zero pressure, and the engine is functioning smoothly without misfiring, the sensor may be faulty. To troubleshoot, first check the engine oil level, and if it is adequate, the sensor is likely the issue. To replace the sensor, you will need either an oil pressure switch socket or a 1-1/16" deep well socket with SRX points and a ratchet. Elevate the front of the car using a jack and secure it with jack stands. Disconnect the electrical connector, then place the socket on the sensor and turn it counterclockwise to remove it.
