The p1077 trouble code on a Honda CR-V suggests that there is a problem with the intake manifold runner control system (IMRC) operating at a low speed. The IMRC is responsible for optimizing the engine's performance across its rpm range by merging two intake manifolds into one. Through regulating the butterfly valves in the intake manifold runners, the IMRC dictates when they open and close. A malfunctioning IMRC can result in diminished engine power and, in some cases, lower performance levels. Signs of a failing IMRC may manifest as engine misfires, decreased power and acceleration, reduced fuel efficiency, and even potential stalling, alerting the driver to a potential issue.
