The oil drain plug on a 2019 Subaru Outback will have a 17mm head size. Before changing the oil, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid handling hot oil. Locate the oil pan underneath the engine and position a bucket beneath the drain plug. Remove the plug to allow the oil to drain into the bucket, which may take about an hour until it stops dripping. Once drained, replace the plug and find the fill port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the pan to the full level, being careful not to overfill. Wiping up any spills, close the port when finished to complete the oil change.

The initial plug has a head size of 14mm, while the new plug has been increased to 17mm. The original 14mm drain plug is still in place on my 2.5 premium model.
