For your 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, it is recommended to use Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 oil or a comparable option that meets Ford specification WSS-M2C930-A. This particular type of oil is proven to deliver optimal fuel efficiency and engine longevity. Be sure to monitor the engine oil level regularly, ideally once a week. To do so, open the hood, take out the dipstick, and wipe it clean. Insert it fully back into the tube, then remove it again. Hold the tip down and ensure that the oil level falls between the two holes at the bottom of the dipstick. If the oil level is below the bottom hole, add enough oil to bring it back to the recommended operating range.
The recommended oil for the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr is synthetic motor oil with a viscosity rating of SAE 5W-20.
