Hey Kelly, you should consider returning to school. Remember, there are 4 quarts in a gallon, which means that 10 quarts of oil is equivalent to 2.5 gallons. The 6.0 engine holds 6 quarts of 5w-30 conventional oil. I am aware of this because I own a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0-liter engine.

2.5 gallons is excessive for a 6.0, as it's about 4 quarts too much. The ideal choice is 10w30 full synthetic oil.
