In 2009, the Chevy Silverado uses an H11 headlight bulb size for its low beams, a common size available at major auto parts stores. If you find that the headlights on your truck are not working, the first step is to check the fuses. If the fuses are okay, it's probably a bulb issue. To replace the bulb, you'll need to take out the rear housing of the headlight, then push and slide the bulb out of the clip holding it in place. Next, disconnect the wire from the back of the bulb and install a new one in reverse order.
