In the 2009 Toyota Corolla, the spark plug socket size is 9/16". To replace a spark plug, start by raising the car's hood. Then, take off the plastic cover on the engine. Unscrew the 10mm bolt from the coil packs located at the top back of the engine. It is recommended to also detach the wire and wire harness. There are four coil packs in total. Use a 9/16" deep well socket to extract the old spark plugs. When putting in new plugs, consider using anti-seize lubricant to make removal easier next time. Hand-tighten the plug first, then use a ratchet to finish. Reattach the coil packs and engine cover, and the task is complete.
The socket size needed for the spark plug of a 2009 Toyota Corolla is 9/16 inches.
