The 2019 Honda HR-V can tow up to 1,500 pounds, which is decent for its size. It's perfect for hauling small trailers or a compact camper. The tongue weight is 150 pounds, equivalent to 10-15% of the total towing limit. With 180 pound-feet of torque, the HR-V can handle a payload between 1,013 and 1,100 pounds.
In 2019, Honda updated the HR-V to allow towing a trailer for the first time. While retaining the familiar inline-4 engine producing 127 lb-ft. of torque, Honda strengthened the frame to handle the trailer load. The redesigned 2019 Honda HR-V is now capable of towing a trailer weighing up to 1,500 lbs, with a tongue weight limit of 150 lbs.
