The 2008 Acura MDX key fob uses a CR032 3-volt button cell battery. If your key fob is not working, the battery is likely dead. Replacing it is quick, affordable, and simple. First, press the button to make the key flip up. Then, use a Phillips head screwdriver or precision screwdriver to unscrew the screw on the fob. Carefully separate the fob by pulling it apart at the sides. Once open, remove the old battery from one half of the fob. To access the battery, pry open its casing with the screwdriver. Take out the old battery and insert the new one in the same orientation. Finally, reassemble the parts and you're finished.
The appropriate battery for my 2008 Acura MDX key fob is the CR1616.
