For the 2008 Mazda3, it is recommended to use type M-III Automatic transmission fluid or a similar equivalent like Dexron II ATF for the power steering fluid. Check the fluid level every couple of months and add more if needed. The power steering fluid reservoir is located on the right side of the engine compartment next to the windshield washer fluid reservoir and has a black cap. Keep the fluid level between the MIN and MAX marks - if it's below MIN, add transmission fluid until it reaches within the range, but do not overfill.
