For the 2011 Mazda3, it is recommended to use dexron iii ATF for the power steering fluid. To replace the power steering fluid, start by finding the clear plastic container under the hood near the window. Use a pump to remove all the fluid from the container. As the fluid level decreases, turn the steering wheel all the way to one side, then to the other side to allow the fluid to drain into the container. Empty the collected fluid from the container. Once it is completely empty, refill it with fluid up to the full line, making sure not to overfill. It may take some time for the steering wheel to loosen up, so drive for about 20 minutes to ensure the procedure was successful.
